It is sad to see these three genteleman on the "Flown West" sheet they were fun guys to fly with. Don had some unusual habits but a great pilot.

I hate to hear that Gene Exum has "flown West." I knew Gene for many years, as I was Gate Agent in STL. One morning, I was NRSA MKC-STL.
Gene was the pilot. After departing MKC, Gene sent a Hostess back and said "The Captain wants to see you up front." In those days it was legal
I proceeded up front, and Gent told me to sit down in the left seat. HEY! NO WAY.
"I am in command of this flight, now sit in the left seat." Different view from there. Gene was a very nice gentleman

Sorry to hear of the passing of Gene Exum. In October of 1965 I was fortunate to be allowed to apply for a pilot position with TWA. Captain Exum was interviewing prospective pilots at the time and he did my interview. Forty years later and now retired from TWA I still remember that interview. He seemed to me the perfect example of what an airline pilot should be. I was totally impressed. Strangely, I never had the opportunity to work with Captain Exum.

My best wishes go out to his family.

It is with regret that we add retired Capt Gordon Hargis to this list. Capt. Hargis "flew west" Wednesday in Fort Worth, Texas after an extended illness.
