TWA service to CVG 4x daily will go to 5x daily on Chautauqua ERJs

SHV gets 3x daily ERJs

JAN gets ERJs as well (new market)

DC-9s from CVG will be moved to right size some MD80 flying which will be moved to some new/additional flying and to offset 2 757s for new markets announced and unannounced. (DCA-LAX) and TBA

Additionally, Heard that DC-9 retirements are being slowed as to grow the fleet. TWA wants to have 20 additional aircraft in service by YE 2001. and an annual 10-15% fleet growth beyond that point.

Any comments?

I expect, as mentioned elsewhere that we'll see more mainline jets being redeployed for the yet unannounced focus city.

Also expect to see ELP back on the map as a RJ destination down the road.

I'm starting to think PIT as the next focus city.

Captoza: I agree with Pittsburgh. Did you know that in terms of daily departures, it was one of TWA largest stations in the early 80s, second only to STL?
With the pending merger, U will be very careful in its efforts to fend off new competition. Besides, there are quite a few gaps in U's route system out of PIT, which TWA could fill before competing head-on. Also, it looks like PIT will benefit the least from the merger (which I am convinced will go through) - UAL may even decide to scale it back somewhat.

I also hope that SJU will see some new routes this winter (at least a connection to focus city #2).
