And they'll pay for it, Bill; just wait until the legal effort succeeds and the integration is reversed.
Then, the F/As who SHOULD have been furloughed...WILL BE.

Not to mention the long-anticipated shareholder suit which, from what I hear, may be percolating.

Sue:
Thank you for speaking your mind on our behalf. It's hard to explain our feelings on how we have been treated over the past two years, and of course now this final blow.
You wouldn't believe the jubilation back in 2001, when we heard of the acquisition, we were saved. We were ready to swing our loyalty over to AA. We sent in thousands of money-saving ideas, (based on our vast experience in that area...lol) few of which were listened to. And now we're set adrift.
I have 38 years, single, no family, and now have to go out and convince someone to hire a 58 year old woman with few skills. I'm better off than most, I don't live in STL, and will not be competing with younger colleages for jobs, and I don't have young children to worry about, just myself. But the sense of abandonment is devastating. But, I will survive, as will we all.
It's heartening, to me at least, that you understand our plight. I know there is little you, personally can do, but I appreciate your compassion.

What we have done to the LLCs' is despicable. I am referring to the f/as. I don't know about the integration situations at the rest of the unions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sue,
May I join those, who appreciate your kind words.
You and I and everyone on this board know that there has never been a “perfect” integration when it comes to issues of seniority. Probably the best we can ever hope for, or expect, is to have those who gained the most, to be able to look in their mirror each morning without shame, and those who have lost the most, continue to stand tall and proud and “carry on”.
It is my sincere wish and belief that the near future will bring great growth for our airline industry and bring the return of our TWA employees, presently suffering from past (and pending furloughs), to add their “greatness’ to our “new airline.”
Sue, the deck was “stacked”. It is not your fault.

Taken from another web site but it pretty well says it all. Supposedly written to AA.com
I thought you guys were nuts for buying TWA. When you did buy them you accepted responsibility for the empolyess that came along as part of the purchase. Now that the going is tougher you stoop to laying off the senior ex-TWA employees in favor of new hires. I have seen this done in Silicon Valley and it was disturbing. At least out here they gave severance pay and health benefits commenserat with the seniority of the employee. You guys are just plain COLD. I hope their organizartion cleans your clock in court. I and any of my friends will never fly AA again if there is an alternative.b [ 05-06-2003, 06:30: Message edited by: L1011Ret ]

Well I guess there you have it. ex-TWA'ers get the pitty vote. What should we do with all the ex-TWA'ers that quit your failing company and came to AA back when TWA was losing money year after year? Should they be considered traders and furloughed instead of everyone who decided to risk staying at a failing company. For those of you who decided to risk staying at TWA the chips fell were they fell. Meanwhile those who left TWA for AA are still employed and will in some cases be replacing you in STL. They took a risk too and for the time being it payed off for them. They gave up their seniority and their pay to be a part of something better. It worked for them. It might not have but they took the risk. For those who decided to stay you need to accept what the cards dealt and move on. AA will survive. The company may or may not go through bankruptcy but you can be sure that AA will still be here for a while to come. Thats something that was never said of TWA. No one likes to see people lose their jobs and hopefully AA will see things turn back around soon and yes even be recalling someday. This little cheerleader board for all the poor me TWA'ers is not worth my time anymore. Good luck to everyone and hopefully we will see you back on the line someday soon. Cheers!

From AA777, "For those who decided to stay you need to accept what the cards dealt and move on."
As usual, nothing better to do than to tell others how they ought to feel and think. It must be comforting to be in charge of the world. Last I remembered, this is still a Democracy and people who feel they have been done a great injustice have every reason and right to protest and take their case to the public and courts. If I am not mistaken, dictators do not yet rule this board. You might also try learning a little of grammar rules and spelling to make your posts comprehensible.

Quite frankly, aa777, you are not worthy of the company of TWA employees.

AA777 states that people took a risk because TWA was failing. Hmmm, it seems to me that AA is failing as well. AA777, are you prepared to make the jump to another successfull carrier like Southwest, jetBlue or Airtran and start at the bottom or are you going to stay at AA and save your seniority and hope your company won't tank? I think these companies might be around longer than your wonderful company.
If it wasn't for the fact that there are so many TWA people being effected by AA, I would support AA being corkscrewed into the ground like the unions did to EASTERN during Franks reign. "If I'm going down, you're going with me!" [ 05-10-2003, 23:37: Message edited by: Subsonic Transport ]

I cannot believe that AA has handed responsibility for the safe operation of a jet worth 9 figures to someone as STUPID as this. As he watches the hordes of ex-TWA people being sent out the door, he actually thinks AA is paying for their retirements. AMAZING!
FYI Stevie, AA would not even pay my moving expenses after I was furloughed from LAX, you blubbering *^&%!
As well, Stevie, my retirement pension, at the tender age of 50, started at year ZERO. Got that, Stevie? I started at Year ZEEEEEEEE-----ROOOOOO.
Is the picture clearer now, Stevie? Are you clear now that AA didn't exactly roll out a red carpet for us ex-TWA folks? [ 05-14-2003, 20:02: Message edited by: Drifter ]

Stop proving how stupid you are by flaunting your ignorance.
AA did not assume any responsibility for the TWA pension plans. The Pension Benefits Guarantee Corporation (www.pbgc.gov) is the responsible party. No TWA retiree or any TWA employee who had the dubious pleasure of working for American Airlines since April 10, 2001, received any credit for their time at TWA toward participation in the American Airlines pension plans.
All the employees who were fortunate enough to work for American started their participation in the AA plan two years ago with no credit, whatsoever, for any time or earnings prior to that date.
Hey TWAnr; Not to nit pick but in fact,we don't even have 2 years credited service. My offical date for credit is 1/1/2002, so I have a big fat 1 year of service. If I retired today, I get (drum roll plez) $847 per YEAR . TADA. I bet old Fritz man is clenching his teeth about my new found riches at the expense of AA.
