I read on the TARPA website that Stew Gilbert has flown west.

Sad news but then I had to smile about all the good memories I have of Stew. He will be remembered by all the pilots that flew with him as a great guy and definitely one-of-a-kind.

Funny situations and occurances just seemed to come his way. I remember many years of Stew Gilbert stories being told and retold in ramp offices and cockpits. Remember "the walk across the LAX ramp to the TWA hangar", "the F/E's puppy in the cockpit, "the mandatory report to LAX before deadheading back to ABQ etc. I know there's more.

It would really be nice as a tribute to the good old days of TWA if some of the pilots who flew with Stew and know the stories better than I could take the time to write about Stew and some of his "adventures".
