Well...has it finally hit the fan? Is standing down until they get a Crew Pass system the issue that will finally rally the nation's airline pilots to take a collective stand against unfair treatment?
I have recently had basal cell and squamous cell cancers removed from my body and would not argue that thousands of hours at altitude did not result in my receiving a dangerous amount of solar radiation. Were I still flying I would NOT wish to be subjected to additional radiation every day of a trip!
Why does the TSA not recognize that no airline pilot needs to carry anything aboard a flight in order to destroy it?

You know the answer to that, Paul. Just like secondary screening at the gate post 9/11. Who invaribly not nabbed? Non revs. This is just another smoke screen by our government to make us feel safe (or safer) instead of targeting the real threats. I'm no expert, but little old ladies in wheel chairs and 7-year old dependents of airline employees are not the threat.

WASHINGTON – The Transportation Security Administration has agreed to allow airline pilots to skip security scanning and pat-downs, pilot organizations said Friday. Pilots traveling in uniform on airline business will be allowed to pass security by presenting two photo IDs, one from their company and one from the government, to be checked against a secure flight crew database, officials at the pilot groups said.
"This looks good. It's basically what we've been after for 10 years," says Sam Mayer, a spokesman for the Allied Pilots Association at American Airlines, the union that raised objections to the new screening process about two weeks ago. "Pilots are not the threat here; we're the target."
TSA said in a news release Friday that pilots would begin seeing changes immediately in security screening, but did not specify what they would be.
The Coalition for Airline Pilot Associations, a trade organization for pilot unions, also described the new program.
It is an expansion of a program tested at three airports, the organizations said.
The decision comes amid recent outrage over invasive pat-downs and full body imaging machines used for screening at airports.

Paul, does this mean an increase in secondary screening and searches for NON REVS to make up for the loss of CREW MEMBERS to harass?

What this means is someone is making a lot of money selling X-ray scanners the the government. It is just another erosion of our dignity and rights. Profile.

Fox News was discussing this a few nights ago in regards to who had stocks in what company. This isn't really anything new. This kind of activity has been going on for......a long time. Long before any of us were born.
It's just the way it is. Still don't like it though.
