Charles "Chuck" Anderson passed away the morning of June 11, 2011. He was 80 years old.
After graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy, he went right to work with Trans World Airlines "TWA," where he was a respected pilot for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Gladys Anderson; and his beloved wife, Bonnie. He is survived by his son, CMichael "Mike" Anderson of Las Vegas; daughter, Susan "Susie" Anderson of Tucson, Ariz.; and sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Raymond Herrera of Santa Barbara, Calif.
Rest in Peace, Captain Anderson

There is something incorrect or missing from this post. After graduating from the USAFA you are committed to 8 yrs of military service. In addition you do not graduate as a pilot, only qualified to go to pilot school. Of course IRISH is not responsible for this obit.

That caught me eye also, Bill. I suspect the obit writer might have been a distant relative who is not familiar with the commitment owed the Air Force upon graduation from the academy.
Hey, at least some one made an effort. I am greatly saddened by the number of TWA pilots passing away apparently without anyone interested enough to write and publish an obit.
Corky Myers, Charles Trevena, Frank Damiani, Jack Hockinson, Claude Weaver, Ford Blaney and many others recently left us quietly and without notice.

Paul: You absolutely right. It is a shame that there is nothing between the birth year and death year except a line. When I was TARPA president, I tried to make a point of that very issue including write your own obit and send it to the Topics or a friend but at least something will show about your life. Thanks for all your efforts on this subject.

???????????????????????????????????????? Wikipidia shows that the first class graduated from USAFA in '59 and if Chuck was in that class he would have been 28 when he graduated...then flight school and 35 years with TWA???

I don't know about you, but this obviously inaccurate obit led me to check mine and make sure it was up-to date and factually correct. Sure enough, I needed to make a few changes.
But then again, if I ever die I don't think I'll care much.
