 - Larry D. Behnken, age 77, of Osage Beach, Mo. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.

Larry was born Aug. 28, 1937 in Atlantic, the son of Claus and Beulah (Keasey) Behnken. Larry spent his career as a commercial airline pilot with Ozark Airlines from 1965 through 1986. Larry finished his career with Trans World Airlines retiring in 1994.

Larry was a member of the Ozark Silver Swallows and the Elks Club of Osage Beach. Throughout the years Larry has enjoyed boating, traveling, and spending time with both family and friends. Anyone acquainted with him knew that he lived life to the fullest.

In 2006, Larry crossed paths with his future wife Nancy Susser. They were united in marriage Dec. 6, 2012. They enjoyed winters in Florida, traveling across the country in their motor home, and cherished every moment they spent together.

Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the memories shared with all.

Rest in Peace, Captain Behnken

Larry was one of the really good guys. I served as his FO numerous times during the early years and enjoyed every trip.

He was a fine airman and a gentleman. Always full of life and laugher. I had an extended conversation with him in March of 2014 at the Ozark Airlines pilot retirement party. Yes we still do that 28 years after the TWA merger. He knew he was terminal then but spoke joyfully of our flights together and common experiences at Ozark.

The world is a happier place because Larry lived.

Blue Skies my friend.
