Capt. Jeffrey Alan Harris, 66, of Fort Worth passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015, from cancer. Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Handley United Methodist Church, 2929 Forest Ave., 76112. Committal: 2:30 p.m. in DFW National Cemetery. Born Dec. 7, 1948, in Kennett, Mo., to George and Lillian Harris, Jeff was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force, and retired American Airlines captain. Jeff was an avid woodworker and longtime active member of Handley United Methodist Church and Eastside Ministries. Upon graduating from Senath High School in 1966, Jeff joined the Army National Guard. In 1971, he graduated from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark., with a bachelor of science degree. After graduating from ASU, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was a captain in SAC, assigned to Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, flying the KC135. After the military he flew for Jet Fleet, a private air service. Then he flew for Ozark Airlines, Trans World Airlines and American Airlines, flying the 767. Jeff married Mary in 1975 at the Carswell Chapel in Fort Worth. Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Oxford Harris; he was the proud father of Michael David Harris, Hunter Simpson Harris and Katie Harris Maines; father-in-law to Jeremy Maines and Jo Lynn Harris; and grandchildren, Justin Harris and Brandon Delarra. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/dfw/obituary.aspx?n=jeffrey-alan-harris&pid=174881341#sthash.nDiyQQmE.dpuf
