“I don’t often get involved in political interviews, but when I do”, (now if that doesn’t remind us all of a cold beer, nothing will.)

Fast rewind to a day seven years ago, when most of us will probably agree that our concerns for our Nation’s future, although quite grave, were far less so than those facing us today. Having said that, following is an accounting of the result of being approached by a very pleasant gentleman with a microphone, asking questions and my attempt to answer them HONESTLY

The referenced video was made during an “unexpected interview” while attending a Tea Party gathering more than seven years ago. With the exception of now having an even far greater concern for America’s future, my thoughts and comments remain much the same today.

https://youtu.be/ircCgLHkzN8

It should be mentioned that the questions asked were NOT provided in advance. I DO remember the interview. And, yes, I DO RECALL the answers to be as spoken during this taped interview.

“God Bless America”

Captain Sir; the words you spoke back then ring with all the truth of today. We do love our country but it is being taken away from us a a very rapid rate. Vote for your candidate but vote. Your voices need to be heard and we pray that the decisions you make are the right ones for our nation. God bless America.

"THE ONLY THING NECESSARY FOR BAD MEN TO SUCCEED IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING" The rhetoric spewed forth by Donald Trump and many of his supporters threatens the very democracy which all patriots hold dear:

If she’s in office, I hope we can start a coup. She should be in prison or shot. That’s how I feel about it,” Dan Bowman, a 50-year-old contractor, said of Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee. “We’re going to have a revolution and take them out of office if that’s what it takes. There’s going to be a lot of bloodshed. But that’s what it’s going to take. . . . I would do whatever I can for my country.”

He then placed a Trump mask on his face and posed for pictures.

Trump’s campaign has taken a sharp turn toward such dark warnings in recent days. He says he is a victim of conspiracies, portrays himself as a martyr to the cause of the right wing, and is stoking anger in advance of what may be a defeat on Nov.

If we had the Australian system we would not have the current problem. They have a 2 party system like we do but each party puts up 2 or 3 candidates and the voters choose from the 5 or 6 members running.

AS I might have expected the Liberal twins- Richy and Dick have expressed their anti- Trump positions. Yet they never say what a miserable job their leader-Obama has done for the past 8 years. They never change! Hillary records of failures is so bad that to elect her questions logic. She would only continue the same path to make the U.S. a weaker nation with a weaker Military and headed for socialism.

Please, please, gentlemen and ladies, let us not make this site a political or religious site. This was given to us very kindly by our host and owner, a place that we may discuss aviation and things related to it. If we abuse it, we WILL LOSE it.
We don't need a war here. Peace and God Bless America!

OK Jack. This sounds like a job for "The Big Boss". Please step in and keep us on the straight and level. (That's about the only aviation-related term that comes to mind.) Guess I've been out of the industry too long.

Thanks, Nick

PS Just saw that Jack Utsick got 18 years. Too bad, but then I never gave him any money.

Does anyone have information on Jack Utsick and his time at TWA. Just curious about domicile, seniority, etc. In my domicile locations of SFO and STL I can't remember our paths crossing.

I believe that he was in SFO around 1973. I pretty sure that he was among a group of us junior people that were working toward having furloughed folks included in the TWA/PAA route swap award.

Other than that, I know nothing except that I wasn't taken in by his "offers".

Jack Utsick spent most of his TWA time on furlough I believe but he never to my knowledge seemed to let it get him down.

I flew with him out of JFK when he was a 707 engineer, he got furloughed and went to Saudi as an engineer and left there a 737 capt, another furlough and he went to People's and left as a 747 capt, back to TWA 747 f/e and we flew together in the Gulf.

He could be a charming guy and he was an accomplished musician in his own rite I believe. He promoted large musical concerts with the biggest names in the business, mostly in the NE area.

He made and lost a lot of money, a good deal of it other peoples and he just got 18 for mail fraud. Sad end for a guy I enjoyed flying with. I imagine he might come up on Google.
