This is rich ---- really rich. From the TWA shots, to the bad acting and dialogue, to the overly dramatic background music ..... what a trip down memory lane on many fronts. Thanks so much for posting!

Yeah Jeff, the storyline is pure-D corn.
You have to ignore the center and concentrate on the background. I grew up at LAX in the '70's so every stair case banister, those old TWA posters, red carpet wall coverings, signage, etc, brings back tons of memories.
Trying to figure out what is where architecturally, then and now, like the police station area (I remember those lumpy roofed pre-fab buildings) and the other dated structures, is fun.
During the outdoor shots I saw the tail of a Golden West Twin Otter sticking over the wall of what is now the Tom Bradley Terminal, which didn't exist then and is now about to be torn down.
The taxiing jets speak for themselves.
Right down to the brown smog line on the horizon, that is mostly gone these days, it's just a rich panorama that we'll never see again.

Dean -
Your descriptions are perfect. I first began experiencing TWA at LAX in the 1970's. I grew up in So. Cal. and was in high school and college in that decade and ..... my father was a TWA frequent flyer so ..... I sometimes went with my Mom to take him to the airport. I remember one time, though, when my Dad took me to the airport for my first trip to NYC (I was dating a girl from NYC and was flying back to visit her and her family). Anyway ..... my Dad was an Ambassador's Club member so ...... we went into the club to wait for my flight (which was an L10 non-stop to JFK). It was at the time that the Dodgers were in a fierce rivalry with The Big Red Machine in Cincinnati and ...... Tommy Lasorda happened to be in the club waiting on his flight. We got into a fun conversation with him ....... he was very funny and seemed to enjoy the banter and ...... as a 19-year old, I was hooked (not to mention after flying an L10 into JFK ..... that got me hooked even more!).
Great memories, though and ....... notwithstanding some of the silliness of that era, I think I'd go back to it in a heartbeat vs. what we have now.
Thanks again for posting this, Dean.

Wonderful memories!
Could that have been Lorna's voice over the PA? She was our famous "paging girl".
Also, Frank Sinatra JR. as the guy who held the "Stewardess" hostage....what a hoot!
Thanks for posting.. Aloha!

I agree that the acting and dialogue are corny but I was more interested in the back ground and out beautiful airplanes, terminal and even our old rival Pan Am. Thanks for the Christmas gift. Our present was working for such a great organization. Merry Christmas and a bountiful 2010 and keep up the good postings.
