Just came across THIS STORY about one of the participants in this long-forgotten hijacking. Looks like he wants to come home, but doesn't want to pay the penalty for his crimes. Of course, from the description of his life in Cuba, he's paid quite a bit during the past 45 years. Somehow I doubt if the family of the police officer who was killed will think he's paid enough.

Looking at the picture of the tail end of the TWA 727 hijacked to CUBA almost makes me drool. For years,it was my hope that if another of our planes HAD To BE hijacked, just maybe those involved would pick a cigar-smoking pilot....Guess who I had in mind.

We'd of loaded so many fine cigars into that plane, Captain Frankum would have taken the next flight there to bump me off the return portion.

Yes, it's a crying shame it was not possible to put the "hijacks to Cuba up for bid".
