 - George Edward Borgmier, 92, passed away peacefully January 18, 2015, at Friendship Gardens in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after a long illness.

George is survived by his wife, Trudy Borgmier, daughter, Linda Norris, son, Bill Borgmier (Anne), daughter, Cheryl Sill (Dan), stepsons, Bill Burt and Richard Burt MD (Shalina), former spouse, Helen Borgmier, grandchildren, Caleb Norris (Ashley), Aaron Norris, Seth Norris, Scott Borgmier (Lauren), Hilary Borgmier, Bailey Borgmier, Connor Borgmier, and great grandchild, Caleb Norris II. George was preceded in death by parents, Harry and Grace Borgmier, brothers, Harry Borgmier, Robert Borgmier, sister, Ruth Ward, and former spouse, Noma Sullivan.

Born in Kansas City, Mo., George learned to fly in the US Navy, and served honorably in World War II and the Korean War as a naval aviator.

After graduating from the University of Denver with a degree in engineering, he joined TWA as a pilot flying as Captain on increasingly larger aircraft including the Lockheed Constellation to eventually the Boeing 747 on international routes from JFK International airport.

An avid golfer with a great sense of humor, George loved to fly and took responsibilities for passengers and crew seriously. The family is very grateful to George's loving friends and care team at Friendship Gardens.

Rest in Peace, Captain Borgmier
